International Thyroid Patients Petition

International Thyroid Patients Association (ITPA)

The medical establishment’s adherence to an outdated TSH reference range has led to the consistent denial of a proper diagnosis for thyroid patients all over the world. In addition, patients who are diagnosed but do not return to full health on thyroxine alone, are further denied a choice of treatments. The International Thyroid Patients Association (ITPA) has been formed to highlight the appalling treatment meted out to thousands of people who are struggling to regain their health. It is time for the medical profession to stop telling patients that the myriad of symptoms they experience have no physical basis.

This international lobbying group is led by Dr Thierry Hertoghe of Belgium and involves numerous thyroid patient organisations worldwide.

The group has also undertaken an International Thyroid Patients Petition for those patients who wish their voices to be heard loud and clear.
